MP HAILS SUCCESS OF WEST DUNBARTONSHIRE’S LOMOND RADIO

West Dunbartonshire’s MP Martin Docherty-Hughes has praised volunteers at local radio station Lomond Radio following a visit to their studios at Strathleven House.

Local MP Martin met with Lomond Radio’s co-founders Alan Caldwell, Paul Lucas and Phil Briscoe at their state-of-the-art broadcast studios in the Vale of Leven to hear about how their community radio project is benefiting West Dunbartonshire.

Lomond Radio was established in Spring 2020 during the first lockdown, and has gone from strength-to-strength after being awarded grant funding of £10,000 from the National Lottery Community Fund.

The station, run by local volunteers, provides news, music and entertainment through their schedule of programmes throughout the day.

Martin Docherty-Hughes MP said:

“Lomond Radio is a fantastic local radio station and it was a pleasure meeting with Alan, Paul, Phil and the team at their studios in Strathleven House

“To get this project up and running at the start of lockdown, their success has been remarkable in helping local people feel connected across West Dunbartonshire and beyond

“This is a true community radio station, supported by the hard-work of dedicated volunteers, and I’d encourage residents to tune in."

Lomond Radio can be listened to online via lomondradio.co.uk, through your smart speaker or by downloading the Lomond Radio app.
