WOMEN IN BUSINESS RE-LAUNCHED ON INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY

A programme to support women in business in Dunbartonshire was re-launched to tie in with International Womens Day today (Tuesday 8th March 2022).

The Dunbartonshire Chamber of Commerce Women in Business programme was paused during the pandemic whilst the Chamber provided crisis-response support for business.

The Chamber is now re-establishing a schedule of events and activities targeted at women in business and those thinking about going into business in Dunbartonshire.

Damon Scott, Chief Executive, Dunbartonshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “It is great to be able to mark International Womens Day by re-launching our popular programme of presentations, workshops and networking events.

Women-led businesses already contribute more than £8 billion to the Scottish Economy and there is huge potential to increase that to upwards of £13 billion if the rate of women-led businesses equalled that of men. It is no surprise therefore that it is an area high on the agenda of the Scottish Government and one that we are backing with our full support.

As part of the Chamber’s International Women’s Day activities Chief Executive, Damon Scott, joined West Dunbartonshire Council’s Depute Provost, Karen Conaghan and Joyce White, Chief Executive at a flag raising to mark the day.
