  • A wealth of opportunities for adventure training

Owner/Managers, Line Managers and employees are invited to attend this open evening, promoting the Army Reserve on Tuesday 15th November 2016 at D Company 7 SCOTS, Latta Street, Dumbarton.

The evening will start at 6pm with refreshments and a buffet supper and looks set to be an interesting and exciting event.

Dumbarton has been an integral part of the Territorial Army and Reserves since the early 19th Century up to the present day. The history of the 1/9th lives on in Dumbarton, now home to D Company, 51st Highland 7th Battalion, Royal Regiment of Scotland; with 2 rifle platoons and an Assault Pioneer Platoon.  The open evening intends to promote the Army Reserve, the opportunities for personal development, fitness training, management skills and additional training and education.

Equally the evening will look to highlight how personal training offered by the Army Reserve can benefit employers, with qualifications and transferable skills, such as: driving licences, advanced tool use, HAZMAT qualifications, first aid, H&S and communications to list a few, at no cost to your organisation.  You will have the opportunity to speak to reservists and hear views why it has been beneficial for them to be a reservist which has led to improved performance in the workplace, with transferable skills that include the ability to work under pressure, reliability, self-confidence and determination to succeed.  During the evening you will be able to see some of the equipment used by soldiers, as well as demonstrations of equipment, combat soldier displays, and first aid capabilities.

Come along and see what the Army Reserve in Dumbarton and wider Scotland is up to, and more importantly, as a business what the Army Reserve can bring to you as employers and your employees.  If you are able to attend please respond to the covering email to the PSAO, Captain Alex McKenzie at [email protected].  Please include your guest’s details and a postal address.
