CHAMBER "BURNS" IT UP AT CAMERON HOUSE!

Dunbartonshire Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Cameron House welcomed around 70 guests to the loch-side location for a Burns-Themed business networking event last week.

Chamber members and guests enjoyed tours of the 5 star venue to see the results of a £3-million refurbishment. The initial phase has focused on revamping the resorts key restaurants and other public spaces.

Guests were also treated to speciality cocktails, canapes and traditional haggis, neeps and tatties. During the evening a range of fun indoor activities were laid on including indoor curling, putting, hoopla, a pop-up nail bar and a “haggis shy” – a Burns version of a coconut shy.

The event was sponsored by the Highland Reserve Forces and Cadets Association who took the opportunity to highlight the transferable skills members of the armed forces can bring to business and promote the Armed Forces Covenant.

Chamber Member, Awestruck Art, provided the photographic services for the evening.

Damon Scott, Chief Executive of Dunbartonshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “It was a fantastic evening thoroughly enjoyed by all in wonderful surroundings. We were delighted that lots of business networking took place and the Cameron House team really spoiled those lucky enough to come along. The response was very positive to the new multi-million pound developments that are underway. Access to events like this is another great example of one of the key benefits of chamber membership.

“The Chamber and Cameron House are already discussing plans for future events and collaborations and we are looking forward to seeing the exciting development of the terrace and enjoying the stunning views from this new area.”

Colin Horsburgh, Director of Sales and Marketing at Cameron House, added: “The partnership between the Dunbartonshire Chamber of Commerce and Cameron House is key to supporting the growth of business in the area. The Burns night highlighted the strength of our cooperation and we are looking forward to more opportunities in the near future.”

MORE ABOUT THE CAMERON HOUSE REFURBISHMENT

Cameron House recently revealed the results of a £3-million refurbishment. This initial phase has focused on revamping the resorts key restaurants and other public spaces.

At the heart of the hotel, Cameron Grill - has been refreshed with new interiors. Light, fresh neutral tones now help create a welcoming space that envelops but at the same time makes the most of its iconic views.

Whilst the creation of a new cocktail bar and menu adds another level of glamour to the restaurant, the Great Scots Bar also now makes the most of the hotel’s location with additional tables and new seating overlooking the loch.

Elsewhere, the public spaces - including the swimming pool and meeting rooms - have been upgraded most notably with four statement chandeliers giving the reception a brighter, more welcoming feel.

The Boathouse restaurant has been updated with refreshes made to its signature New England style. With the light reflecting off the water lifting this bright, breezy space, it’s the perfect foil for a menu that celebrates the best of classic dishes and local seafood that can be enjoyed inside or outside on the deck.

The latest work, costing £1m, will include an extensive terrace overlooking the loch and the Trossachs National Park, alongside redesigned bedrooms. The new terrace, designed by architecture firm 3DReid, will feature frameless glass balustrading and a covered timber deck to provide an alfresco bar and events space for 60 seated or 120 standing and is set to be completed by the end of April.
