Employers and Young People urged to take on the Apprenticeship Challenge

Developing the Young Workforce West is urging local apprentice employers within West Dunbartonshire, Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire and Inverclyde to get involved to make a difference in their area.

The Scottish Apprenticeship Challenge 2017, supported by Skills Development Scotland, will see groups of apprentices take on projects to benefit their local community which utilises and develops the skills they have gained within their apprenticeship.

The challenge is open to any organisation with staff currently following an Apprenticeship Framework and is open to either an individual apprentice or a team of up to 8 apprentices from any industry sector and either from the private or public sector.

All participating teams will be invited to a Presentation Ceremony in October 2017 where they will present on their project to a panel of judges. The categories for the awards will include Most Innovative Project, Best Presentation, Best Report and an Overall Winner who will progress to the Scottish Apprenticeship Challenge National Awards.

Registrations must be received by the 30th of June 2017 and the challenge should be completed and report submitted by the 29th of September 2017.
