Dunbartonshire Chamber of Commerce in partnership with New College Lanarkshire welcomed almost 60 guests to the first in a series of new networking events for East Dunbartonshire businesses.

The business breakfast was also supported by East Dunbartonshire Council, Federation of Small Business (FSB) and Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).

The first event, “How Safe is Your Business” took place at New College Lanarkshire’s Kirkintilloch campus and focused on theme of Cyber Security. Guests heard from experts; Grahame Clarke from Scottish Business Resilience Centre and Nicola Niven, Senior Fraud Manager, RBS.

Damon Scott, Chief Executive, Dunbartonshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “It was fantastic that we were at capacity for our first event. Cyber security is a really important area for businesses to be aware of and it was great that so many attended, connected with each other and found out what support and benefits the various partners can offer. This is just the first in an ongoing programme of partnership events that will be of benefit to business either through networking, knowledge transfer, special interest or inspirational content.”

Deborah Grant, Commercial Development Manager, New College Lanarkshire, adds: “We were delighted to welcome a variety of local businesses to our Kirkintilloch Campus and, through a partnership approach, offer an opportunity to learn from industry experts and connect with key organisations and other businesses.”
